Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3i (16″, 2022) review – its display is fantastic

Disassembly, Upgrade options, and Maintenance

Getting inside this laptop is a bit weird. First, you need to undo four Phillips-head screws, holding the plastic shroud. After that, undo all 8 Phillips-head screws from the bottom panel, and pry it with a plastic tool. Start from the back and work your way to the front of the laptop.

This notebook features a 71Wh battery pack. To take it out, unplug the battery connector from the motherboard, and undo the 4 Phillips-head screws you see.

There are two SODIMM slots, which work with DDR4 RAM, and support a maximum capacity of 64GB. As for the storage, you get one 42-millimeter, and one 80-millimeter M.2 PCIe x4 slot, both of which support Gen 4 SSDs.

Cooling-wise, there are two heat pipes shared between the CPU and the GPU, as well as one more for the graphics card. In addition, there are four heat sinks, two fans, and a couple of heat spreaders for the graphics memory and the VRMs.

Thanks for this I bought the same laptop with i7-12650h and RTX 3050 Ti, and the thermal throttling is unbelievable. with the cinebenchr23 (and everything else)it stays around 90-95 degrees… and lowers the speed to 1.5ghz. very sad and I hope changing the factory thermal paste will solve everything(will put Arctic mx-6) you gave me hope!!
