WB Montreal officially reveals Gotham Knights’ Minimum System Requirements

Games based on superheroes definitely have a lot of potential, both in terms of storytelling and gameplay. The latest game based on a comic book property, Gotham Knights, gives you four superheroes to play with, in a manner similar to GTA V, as you can swap and do missions with each of them, and explore different fighting styles and moves.

However, we’re not here to talk about the story or the gameplay itself, as they are for sure going to be good enough. With the minimum requirements getting revealed, we want to see how easy the game is to run, and which are some budget-friendly options in the laptop world.

Minimum requirements
Operating systemWindows 10 64-bit
ProcessorIntel Core i5-9600K (3.70 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (3.60 GHz)
Memory8GB RAM
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti OR AMD Radeon RX 590
DirectXVersion 12
Storage45 GB available space
Additional notes1080p / 60fps / Low Quality Settings

WB Montreal reveals that these specs should allow you to play the game at 1080p at 60FPS and low settings, which is crazy, considering the 1660 Ti GPU that’s given. Starting with the processor, the Core i5 9600K and the Ryzen 5 3600 both come with 6-cores, while the AMD chip supports SMT, giving it 12 threads. In the laptop world, the 10th and 11th Gen Core i5 H45 processors should be an equivalent, if not better outright. On the AMD side, you can rely on the 4000H and 5000H-series Ryzen 5 CPUs. Obviously, the latest released processors from AMD and Intel would do the job perfectly, however here we’re looking at more budget offerings or previous-gen devices that have gone on sale.

Moving over to the graphics, the 1660 Ti is a pretty powerful GPU, despite being a bit old. The RX 590 is 2 years older while delivering similar scores inside benchmarks. High TGP versions of RTX 3050 and RTX 3050 Ti do score a bit lower than both of them, however, we do hope the game is playable with these GPUs, as they represent a large part of the gaming market, including being part of the new 2022 laptops. The RTX 2070 Max-Q and the RTX 2060 can work as well, but the latter needs to be a higher TGP model, in order to squeeze as much power as possible. If you’re looking into the newer stuff, any RTX 3060 or an RX 6600M will do a great job at FHD.

Currently, most of the top entries into our Top 100 Best Gaming Laptop Deals cover or exceed the requirements, so you can definitely select one of them for your next gaming laptop.
