This is the new ASUS VivoBook Pro N580 / X580 with GTX 1050 (specs + price)

Remember when we told you about the new “ultra-budget gaming laptop king” ASUS X580? Now we have some more interesting info, along with photos and detailed specs.

The first thing that grabbed our attention is the design of the 15.6-inch notebook which looks more like a ZenBook than a gaming laptop. Actually, it’s something like a “low cost” XPS 15 – with the same Intel Core i7-7700HQ and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050, although equipped with a TN screen (instead of IPS) and 2 mm thicker (19.2 mm against 17 mm)… but hey – around 2 times cheaper! We expect a starting price of about $799 in the USA for configuration with Core i5-7300HQ, 1TB HDD and without Windows OS.

ASUS VivoBook Pro N580, which will be also known as X580, is also equipped with up to 16 GB RAM, keyboard backlight, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, USB Type-C and M.2 SSD. The latter will be of SATA III type but you can be sure that we’ll check whether it supports PCIe NVMe as soon as we receive this laptop (you’ll also find it in our Laptop M.2 (NGFF) SSD Compatibility List).
