pa187785Qualcomm announced three new mobile chips to succeed several popular models. The new solutions are Snapdragon 653, Snapdragon 626, and Snapdragon 427. All of them support the Quick Charge 3.0 technology and we can expect even faster charging for the smartphones to use those chips.

Snapdragon 653 is an improved version of Snapdragon 652, and it carries a 10% performance increase and now supports up to 8GB of RAM. Other changes include the move from an X8 LTE to an X9 LTE module as well as the support of a dual camera with the Clear Sight technology.

Snapdragon 626 also carries a 10% performance increase over Snapdragon 625. Also available here are an X9 LTE module and the support of a dual rear camera.

The last new mobile chip is the Snapdragon 427 and it has an X9 LTE module as well, and it is a significant improvement over the X6 LTE one in Snapdragon 425. Also supported are dual cameras which is a definite sign that mid-range models will soon start offerring such features.

Additionally, the first two chips will enter mass production by the end of this year, while the same will happen to Snapdragon 427 in the beginning of next year. Their appearance in smartphones can be expected in Q1 of 2017.
