Just after its biggest competitor, Aspire Nitro, Lenovo’s GeForce GTX 960M-based Y50 will take its place on the European market and maybe in gamers hearts. The “old but new” flagman is already shipped and some stores could even receive it tomorrow.

We have information and prices for two 15.6-inch configurations – with Full HD IPS and 4K displays.

In addition to the IPS screen, the first one features a high-class Intel Core i7-4720HQ processor, 8GB of RAM, 1TB HDD (+8GB SSD) and runs the Windows 8.1 operating system. The price for this particular configuration will be ~1050 EUR.

The latter is equipped with a 4K screen (instead of the FHD one), Core i7-4720HQ, 8GB RAM, 512GB Solid State Drive (instead of the 1TB HDD) and also has a pre-installed Windows 8.1 OS. Its price will be ~1400 EUR.

We’re pretty sure that Lenovo will use the same Samsung FLLTN156FL02L01 PLS panel for the refreshed 4K models, which we’ve already put to test in this review.

Do you think that money will be worth in compare with GTX 860m? What GPU will it use, GTX 960m or GTX 965m? Hope I will be able to read the review soon 🙂

Pardon me, didn’t noticed “960m”, though it was 9xxM.

Depends on the country. The V15 (1TB +128SSD, 4720hq, 960m, Full HD IPS) just arrived in The Netherlands, for not at all cheap: 1399,- EUR. Hopefully prices drop once Lenovo starts competing with their updated y50s. Which, considering the latest news, won’t be long.
