Lenovo Legion Y740 (17″) – bigger and accompanied by RTX 2080 Max-Q

And since today we are looking at 17-inchers, let us have a look at the big Legion Y740 and see if there is anything peculiar about it. If bigger is not better for you, you can check its 15-inch brother that we spoke about a while ago.

You can check its in-depth specs and more information here: https://laptopmedia.com/series/lenovo-legion-y740-17/

Unlike its smaller buddy, this one has only one CPU option so far – Intel Core i7-8750H which is 4th in our Top Laptop CPU Ranking. As for the graphics part, this machine offers the chips found in the 15-inch version – the latest and greatest NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q. However, there is one more chip that makes the difference here – the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q.

As for memory and storing your data, you can currently get up to 16GB of RAM and up to a 512GB SSD. Additionally, the battery unit has a capacity of 76Wh. Quite commendable but also expected, considering the demanding hardware. We’ll be sure to check its real-life performance once we lay our hands on the bad boy.

Additionally, the connectivity options are pretty standard for this device – a single USB Type-C port 3.1 (3.1 Gen 2), three USB Type-A, an HDMI 2.0 connectorDisplayport mini, LAN, and more. Of course, there is also a fancy backlight for all of you gaming fanboys.

When it comes to the display, there is only one option so far – a 17-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080), 144 Hz, IPS panel.

Competition-wise, you can also check the new Dell G7 17 (7790), the MSI GS75 Stealth and Lenovo Legion Y740 (17″).
