Lenovo Legion Y740 (15″) – continues the trend of last year’s Legions

The time has finally come for us to check on a new gaming notebook series by Lenovo. We are talking about the Lenovo Legion Y740 (15″) which continues the trend of last year’s Legions for adopting a more simplistic design language.

You can check its in-depth specs and more information here: https://laptopmedia.com/series/lenovo-legion-y740-15/

And so, the configs that are currently on the market feature the following processors – Intel Core i7-8750H and Intel Core i5-8300H. They are more than enough as you can find them in the top 10 of our Top Laptop CPU Ranking. Graphics-wise, we are presented with the latest and greatest NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q.

When it comes to the memory and storage side of things, the models which can be purchased now offer up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB SSD for your precious data. Additionally, the battery pack has a capacity of 57Wh.

Display-wise, for now, you can only do a 15.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS display with a refresh rate of 144 Hz. Not bad at all especially with its near bezel-less design. Among the other merits, we find a profile thickness of 19.95 – 23.85 mm. Nice, considering the powerful components. Of course, as the pictures show you, a fancy backlight has been included as well.

As for the connectors, what you get is a single USB Type-C 3.1 (3.1 Gen 2), three USB Type-A ports, HDMI 2.0Displayport mini, LAN, and more.

This 15-inch gaming bad boy will naturally compete with other similarly sized and equipped notebooks such as MSI GE63 Raider RGB 8Rx / 8Sx,  MSI GT75 Titan 8Rx / 8Sx and Triton 500.
