[Specs, Info, and Prices] Acer TravelMate Vero (TMV15-51) – The Vero from last year in new clothing

Acer is bringing its sustainability efforts to its business TravelMate notebooks, which we’re all onboard about. The Vero series of laptops uses as many recycled materials as possible, so Acer is now making a TravelMate laptop using the same technique, which certainly gives the device a unique look.

The Acer TravelMate Vero (TMV15-51) comes with hardware from 2021, which we’re not happy with, considering the jump in performance of the 12th and upcoming 13th gen. Still, for pure business work, we’d consider the laptop to still be usable.

Today we’re giving you a quick overview of the Acer TravelMate Vero (TMV15-51).

The Acer TravelMate Vero (TMV15-51) is available with a starting price of $899.99.

Acer TravelMate Vero (TMV15-51): Full Specs

Design

The laptop looks extremely similar to the Aspire Vero (AV15-51) and we wouldn’t be surprised if the chassis and most of the internal components that it uses are the same. The outside is entirely made from plastic, with up to 30% of it coming from post-consumer recycled plastic. The material has a speckled finish, which fits the black chassis much better. The keycaps are also up to 50% recycled. In terms of dimensions, the TravelMate Vero isn’t the lightest, coming in at 1.80 kg for weight and 17.9 mm for thickness. There are some debossed logos, including the name of the laptop, an Intel Core logo, and an Acer logo on the back.

Display

The laptop is offered with two display options, a TN panel with a resolution of 1366 x 768p or a Full HD IPS panel. We’d recommend you get the IPS version, as you’d like the viewing angles, brightness, and contrast ratio much better.

Specifications and features

You get two Tiger Lake U-series processors to choose from, either the Core i5-1155G7 or the Core i7-1195G7. Both come with 4 cores and 8 threads, along with pretty high boost clock speeds, going as high as 5.00 GHz for the Core i7. These CPUs are now two years old, however, for simple business tasks and daily use, they will still function pretty well. What we’d only consider as the drawback is the low core count, as Intel has moved into a new era of hybrid processors with a lot more cores and more performance. For graphics, you’ve got the Iris Xe Graphics G7, with either 80 or 96 Execution Units. Since Intel iGPUs rely on the CPU as well, their performance varies a lot.

The port selection of the TravelMate Vero offers one USB 2.0 port, two UBS Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) ports, one USB Type-C 3.2 (Gen. 1) port, an HDMI port, a LAN port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Acer also gives the laptop a fingerprint reader for security, which is incorporated into the Acer ProShield Plus software, which secures the TravelMate against tampering and accessing the biometric data of the laptop.
