6 reasons to BUY the Lenovo IdeaPad S340 15″

1. Good screen

The screen of Acer Predator Triton 300 (Innolux N156HCE-N1) has 91% sRGB coverage. The maximum brightness is also decent (300+ nits). Another strong point is the contrast ratio and nice viewing angles. The screen is PWM-free up below 80 nits. In addition, the frequency is high enough and it is relatively safe for a prolonged period of time. You can also use our “Health-Guard” profile that eliminates the PWM and reduces the negative Blue Light.

2. Great battery life

Acer Predator Triton 300 is equipped with a very good battery unit. The capacity is just 58.75Wh but the battery life is impressive. We measured almost 11 hours of Web browsing and 9 hours of video playback. If you use your notebook for a couple of hours every day Triton 300’s battery will last at least four days without seeing the charger.

3. Decent keyboard

The keyboard has a 4-zone RGB backlight and you can control it with the PredatorSense app. The key travel is good as well as the clicky feedback. Our opinion is that this keyboard is a very good one for gaming.

4. All-aluminum build

Yes, the build quality of this machine is a strong selling point. The lid and the whole shell are made from aluminum. The notebook feels nice to touch and its weight is acceptable for a gaming device (2.5 kg). The hinge is stable and you can open the notebook with one hand.

5. PredatorSense app

Thanks to the PredatorSense app you can control the fans’ speed of the device and you can even adjust the clock speeds. There is a “Turbo” button which will ramp up the cooling fans to 100% for much better temperatures during gaming. Before touching the “Turbo” button you have to ready your headphones.

6. Upgradability

If you need more space and RAM you can turn the Acer Predator Triton 300 into a storage beast. On board we have a regular 2.5″ SATA drive and two M.2 slots. The RAM capacity can be upgraded up to 32GB.

1 reason NOT to buy the Acer Predator Triton 300 (PT315-51)

1. Hot shell during gaming

Unfortunately, the shell is getting hot when a serious load is applied. We’ve seen worst but the Acer Predator Triton 300 is not the most comfortable gaming device out there thanks to its hot body. This can be bypassed with the “Turbo” button but the fans are really loud in this mode.
