Top 5 best-selling laptops at LaptopMedia [December 2019]

#5 Dell G5 15 5590

Dell G5 15 5590 has a very good battery life – above 8 hours for both Web browsing and video playback. Impressive for a 60Wh battery. The RGB keyboard is comfortable for gaming. It also has nice key travel, decent feedback, and NumPad keys.

The I/O is rich in ports. The display is PWM-free and has nice viewing angles. The build quality is decent.

Now, some cons – Dell G5 15 5590 is hot and loud under stress and the display Covers only 52% of sRGB.

#4 Acer Predator Helios 300 15 (2019)

For its price, the Acer Predator Helios 300 15 (2019) offers a lot. The keyboard is a good one, with nice travel and big arrows. The build quality is pleasant. The Turbo key will bring the temperatures down but the noise will be sky-high. The fast 144Hz display (BOE NV156FHM-N4K) has accurate colors (when our Gaming and Web design profile is applied). The panel is PWM-free. For better upgradability, we have two M.2 slots inside.

The drawbacks are lack of Thunderbolt support and SD card reader. Nevermind, the Acer Predator Helios 300 15 (2019) is awesome.

#3 ASUS TUF FX505

The price of the ASUS TUF FX505 makes it a good deal right now. This machine can be equipped with efficient AMD Ryzen R5 and R7 processors. You can have it with Intel CPUs as well.

The display (LG LP156WFC-SPD1) doesn’t use PWM to adjust its brightness and the viewing angles are decent. The keyboard has a nice key travel and it is good for gaming. The bezels of this machine are really thin. There is NVMe support which is always a good thing.

The bad side of the laptop – the build quality is not the best, the battery life is sub-par, and the display color coverage is nothing to write home about.

#2 ASUS ROG Strix G531

Another good deal at this moment is the ASUS ROG Strix G531. This one has a very good 120Hz IPS panel (Sharp LM156LF-GL02 NCP0042) with no sign of PWM usage.

The ASUS ROG Strix G531 has a big variety of CPU / GPU combos to choose from – everyone can choose something that will suit their taste. The ones who love RGBs will be happy with this notebook – it has plenty.

There is no Thunderbolt support and SD card reader, the panel has low sRGB coverage – just 57%.

#1 Acer Aspire 5 (A515-54G)

Acer Aspire 5 (A515-54G) is nothing but a bargain no matter its price. It features a strong battery life – over 8 hours of Web browsing and video playback. The IPS panel (AUO B156HAN02.1) is PWM-free and has nice viewing angles.

During load, this machine is always cool. There is NVMe support which is nice especially in this price category. Last but not least – the profile is just 17 mm and the weight is on the low side – 1.90 kg.

Some cons – the build is almost entirely made of plastic. The keyboard feedback is mediocre and its key travel is short. The display has poor sRGB coverage – 54% only.
