[Specs, Info and Prices] Lenovo ThinkPad E14 and E15 Gen 2 AMD and Intel variants – new all-purpose machines with Tiger Lake

Lenovo has always been one of the household names when it comes to laptops. They have been in the game for so long that they already know what works and what doesn’t. This means that they have already perfected most of their design elements and brand identity, so their customers are already comfortable with their devices and don’t need to reestablish new habits.

Such is the case with the second generation of the Lenovo ThinkPad E14 and E15. While on the outside they don’t look a lot different from their previous version, on the inside they bring improvements in the technology that they use. Today we present to you the new generation of the Lenovo ThinkPad E14 and E15.

Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 2

As you already know, the number in a laptop’s name usually tells of its screen size, and here it’s no different. The ThinkPad E14 has you choosing between two 14-inch displays with Full HD resolution. The difference between them is that one is a TN panel and the other is IPS. TN panels generally have lower response time, which matters a lot if you decide to game on the device and they are relatively cheaper to produce. Where IPS panels shine, is with their ultimately better viewing angles and better color accuracy.

The laptop gets an upgraded processor and graphics card, making the jump from Ice Lake to Tiger Lake, which brings the new Intel Iris Xe Graphics and other usual improvements in performance that are associated with a new generation of CPUs.

Lenovo ThinkPad E15 Gen 2

The second device is pretty similar to the first one with the biggest difference being the screen size. The Lenovo ThinkPad E15 Gen 2 gets a 15.6-inch screen which, while being better for work and is generally less strenuous than a smaller screen, makes the device less compact and harder to carry around. You also only get one choice for display: a Full HD IPS panel. Other than that the device is pretty much identical to the ThinkPad E14, as it has the same choices for CPU and GPU.

One massive bonus that you get with the ThinkPad E15 is that you get a carrying compartment for Bluetooth earbuds inside the laptop. So if you are deciding between the two, think about what is more important for you, having better usability and more screen real estate, or having your laptop weigh less and being more compact.
