Acer TravelMate P4 (TMP414-52): Full Specs

Design

The TravelMate P4 has a premium construction, with a magnesium-aluminum body that keeps it light and tough. It weighs only 1.47 kg and has a profile of 17.78 mm. The chassis has a matte finish on the lid and base, along with a small Acer logo on the lid. The base houses a backlit keyboard that looks very similar to the ones on the Nitro 5 laptops. You also get speaker grills that flank the board. On the top bezel, we see a webcam with an IR sensor for facial recognition and a manual shutter.

The port selection of the laptop includes two USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) ports, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI port, a MicroSD card reader, a LAN port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Display

The laptop’s 16:10 IPS display has a Full HD+ resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate, so it’s a pretty standard panel. We don’t expect to see good color coverage or accuracy out of it, but you’ll still be able to get plenty of work done on it.

Specifications and features

The laptop is powered by three Alder Lake P-series processors, including the Core i3-1220P, the Core i5-1240P, and the Core i7-1260P. The Core i3 comes with 10 cores and 12 threads, while the Core i5 and i7 have 12 cores and 16 threads each. It’s interesting to see that the Core i7-1280P isn’t present here, as it’s the most powerful P-series chip, with 14 cores and 20 threads. There are only integrated graphics to pick from, however, they are pretty good, allowing you to play some light games as well as tackle video rendering, thanks to the encoding capabilities of the iGPU.
