[Specs and Info] Lenovo Slim 7 Carbon (13″) – The performance per gram must be insane

Lenovo’s Slim notebooks are also a part of the Yoga brand, but the Slim 7 Carbon that we have here doesn’t have the convertible hinge design. At this point, Lenovo might want to separate the Slim series from the Yoga, which will clear up any questions and inconsistencies. Today we have the Lenovo Slim 7 Carbon (13″), which carries a powerful Alder Lake P-series processor, that the laptop can hopefully cool down properly, otherwise, we’re going to have a hot and underperforming mess.

Today we’re giving you a quick overview of the Lenovo Slim 7 Carbon (13″).

Lenovo Slim 7 Carbon (13″): Full Specs

Design

The name definitely gives it away, as far as the build materials are concerned, as the Slim 7 is built using carbon fiber for the lid and a magnesium-aluminum alloy for the base. With such lightweight materials, the laptop is kept below 1 kg, at just 0.98 kg. Thickness isn’t an issue, with a profile of only 14.9 mm. The design is minimal, with sharp edges, rounded corners, and subtle branding.

Display

There’s only one display available, with a 13.3-inch diagonal and a 2.5K resolution, which is pretty high for this size, so you can expect a detailed and crisp image. It uses an IPS panel with 400 nits of peak brightness, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, and 100% sRGB coverage. It has a 90Hz refresh rate and comes pre-calibrated with a dE value of below 1.0.

Specifications and features

The Slim 7 Carbon doesn’t offer a lot of hardware options, in fact, there’s only one CPU available, the Core i7-1260P. For graphics, you have to rely on the integrated Iris Xe Graphics G7 with 96 Execution Units. Hopefully, with only one CPU, Lenovo can optimize the work of the laptop so it performs well under all circumstances.

The device offers very little I/O coverage, with only two USB Type-C ports, one of which has Thunderbolt 4 support and USB4 support, with transfer speeds of up to 40Gbps. The top bezel uses an HD webcam with an IR sensor for face recognition, as well as a Time of Flight camera that can be used to measure distance and blur the background. The base has a backlit keyboard and a glass-surfaced touchpad.
