[Specs and Info] Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 (15″, 2023) – Not different enough from the regular IdeaPad 3
Does the IdeaPad Slim 3 have a reason to exist, despite the slightly more portable chassis? Everything else is incredibly similar to the regular IdeaPad 3, from the design to the hardware selection. Today we have the new 2023 version of the Slim 3, which offers a lot (seriously, a lot of different hardware options), as well as the regular classics of a budget machine, like a TN display for starters. However, it’s also really cheap so we can’t really complain too much. Except for the display, which you should totally upgrade to an IPS unit, of which there are options to pick from.
Today we’re giving you a quick overview of the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 (15″, 2023).
Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 (15″, 2023): Full Specs
Design
Similar to all other IdeaPad 3 laptops, we’re working with an entirely plastic build. In our previous experience with the previous Gen laptops, durability hasn’t been top-notch, but not too poor either. There is some flex to be expected from the lid and the base, however, the laptop is portable, with a weight of 1.62 kg and a thickness of 17.9 mm.
As for the sides, the I/O there consists of two USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) ports, one Type-C port with the same speed, but with included Power Delivery and DisplayPort support, an HDMI 1.4b port, an SD card reader, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Display
The IdeaPad Slim 3 comes with both TN and IPS displays, at a Full HD resolution. The TN version you should skip entirely, as IPS panels offer much better colors and viewing angles. The TN panel maxes out at 250 nits, while the IPS panel reaches 300 nits while having double the contrast ratio, so darker colors look dark, which is important when watching content at night.
Specifications and features
The specs sheet includes the newest 13th Gen Raptor Lake processors, from the smallest replacements of the Celeron and Pentium chips, the Intel N100, N200, and N300, to the bigger U-series. On the AMD side, you get the Ryzen 7000-series but don’t get your hopes up, you’re not getting Zen 4. There are several Zen 2 and Zen 3 CPUs. All Intel and AMD chips include integrated graphics, which are efficient and can still handle plenty of multitasking and media playback, which is all you’ll be doing on it. You can also add more features to the laptop, including a backlit keyboard and a fingerprint reader inside the power button. The large grill above the keyboard houses a set of stereo speakers, which do support Dolby Audio.
