Design

As with most ASUS devices, this one has MIL-STD-810H certification, which includes tests for humidity, altitude, shock, vibrations, and extreme temperatures, to ensure that the device can withstand even the most hostile of environments. The rubber bumper on the corners provides a good degree of drop protection, while the textured finish on the back provides enough grip so it doesn’t have to come to that. The provided cover and keyboard have a textile finish on the back and implement a kickstand. In terms of weight and height, the laptop weighs only 0.50 kg and has a profile of 9 mm.

Display

The laptop offers two 10.1-inch displays with an FHD+ resolution and an IPS panel. The 16:10 aspect ratio helps for Creator applications, which you will be able to handle thanks to the 100% sRGB coverage and 400 nits max brightness. The difference between them is that one of them has a touch and stylus support.

Specifications and features

Powering the Chromebook CZ1 is the MediaTek MT8183, which uses eight cores running at 2.00GHz. While the clock speeds are a tad low for a laptop, they are spot on when you factor in that this is an ARM-based chip, for which the technology was first developed for smartphones. The SoC includes the Mali-G72 MP3 GPU, which offers enough performance to run apps for sketching and drawing.

In terms of features, there are two cameras with one 2MP shooter on the front and an 8MP snapper on the back. One negative about the device is the lack of ports, as the device offers a single USB Type-C 2.0 port and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
