Dell Latitude 13 7320: Full Specs / In-depth Review

3 reasons to BUY the Dell Latitude 13 7320

1. Design and build quality

The laptop is crafted using aluminum and carbon fiber, and you can actually configure it with an exposed carbon fiber weave pattern on the lid. The laptop is incredibly light, with a weight of only 1.12 kg, and has a profile of 18mm at its thickest point at the back. The body is very resilient to flex, with both the lid and the keyboard deck showing no signs of weak points. The lid opens easily with one hand.

2. Battery life

You are presented with two battery sizes, with either 42Wh or 63Wh. Our laptop had the bigger unit, which lasted for 11 hours and 15 minutes of Web browsing, or 10 hours and 50 minutes of video playback. Now, we conduct the battery tests with Windows Better performance setting turned on, screen brightness adjusted to 120 nits, and all other programs turned off except for the one we are testing the notebook with.

3. I/O

The laptop has decent I/O coverage, with one USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) port, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI 2.0 port, a MicroSD card reader, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

2 reasons NOT to buy the Dell Latitude 13 7320

1. Upgradeability

On the other hand, the upgradeability suffers, with the laptop offering only soldered RAM and a single M.2 PCIe x4 slot.

Here is our teardown video, which shows how to access the single M.2 slot.

2. Display quality

There is a single display option, with a 13.3-inch Full HD IPS panel. The unit comes with comfortable viewing angles, has a max brightness of is 298 nits in the middle of the screen and 292 nits average across the surface with a maximum deviation of 8%. All in all, the brightness uniformity is great. The contrast ratio is good – 1370:1. A better panel with good color coverage could have been used, but Dell decided to skip on it. The panel covers 57% of the sRGB color gamut.

The accuracy isn’t great either, with the stock settings (left) delivering a dE value of 3.9, while our Design and Gaming profile lowered it down to 3.2 (right).

Office Work

Office Work should be used mostly by users who spend most of the time looking at pieces of text, tables or just surfing. This profile aims to deliver better distinctness and clarity by keeping a flat gamma curve (2.20), native color temperature and perceptually accurate colors.

Design and Gaming

This profile is aimed at designers who work with colors professionally, and for games and movies as well. Design and Gaming takes display panels to their limits, making them as accurate as possible in the sRGB IEC61966-2-1 standard for Web and HDTV, at white point D65.

Health-Guard

Health-Guard eliminates the harmful Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) and reduces the negative Blue Light which affects our eyes and body. Since it’s custom tailored for every panel, it manages to keep the colors perceptually accurate. Health-Guard simulates paper so the pressure on the eyes is greatly reduced.
