Acer TravelMate X349-M (14-inch, FHD, IPS) display profiles – Quality and Health impact results
The Acer TravelMate X349-M has a decent IPS panel that will suit most users for work, browsing, and even multimedia activities. However, as with every budget-oriented panel, there some flaws that can be fixed. In the pack below, you will find the usual Health-Guard, Office work / Web design and Gaming / Movie Nights profiles, each of which will improve the overall image quality in certain aspects. You can read more about them here and how to use them. We also suggest reading our dedicated article regarding blue light emissions and PWM and how our custom profiles help eliminate both to certain extend.
The Acer TravelMate X349-M has a Full HD IPS panel with 51% sRGB coverage, high contrast ratio (1240:1) relatively low maximum brightness (224 cd/m2) and almost optimal color temperature. Our profiles will deliver better overall image quality by improving color reproduction, correct the gamma levels and also limit the negative blue light emissions.
Since our profiles are tailored for each individual display model, this article and its respective profile package is meant for Acer TravelMate X349-M with 14.0″ panel manufactured by AU Optronics with model number B140HAN02.1 featuring FHD (1920×1080) resolution and the machine can be found at Amazon.com: Acer TravelMate X349-M.

Office Work / Web Design
This profile aims to deliver the most accurate colors possible in the sRGB gamut – the colors used on the Web. That makes it suitable for Office work and, in some cases, for Web Design. And as you can see in the graphs below, this profile will bring down the dE2000 from the 5.3 to а more bearable level of 3.7. Results above 4.0 are unwanted.
We’ve also adjusted the gamma curve and white balance to fit the standards.
Gaming and Movie Nights
You can take advantage of the Gaming and Movie Nights profile, which will improve the overall visibility – especially in darker areas of the image – during gaming and watching movies (you can see an example here).
As for the Health-Guard profile, it reduces the blue light impact and eliminates the PWM. But since the screen doesn’t use PWM for regulating screen brightness, the profile will still be useful when it comes to blue light emissions.
