Acer Aspire V 17 Nitro Black Edition (VN7-793G) (17-inch, UHD, IPS) display profiles – Quality and Health impact results

If you are looking for a nearly flawless display quality for your color-sensitive work, then look no further than this notebook right here. However, the pack below will provide you with fine tuning of the already excellent IPS panel. The profile packages contain the usual Health-Guard, Office work / Web design and Gaming / Movie Nights profiles, each of which will improve the overall image quality in certain aspects. You can read more about them here and how to use them. We also suggest reading our dedicated article regarding blue light emissions and PWM and how our custom profiles help eliminate both to certain extent.

The Acer Aspire V 17 Nitro Black Edition (VN7-793G) has an Ultra HD IPS panel with 100% sRGB and 100% Adobe RGB coverage, high contrast ratio (1020:1), really high maximum brightness (377 cd/m2) and close to optimal color temperature – 6900K.

Since our profiles are tailored for each individual display model, this article and its respective profile package are meant for the Acer Aspire V 17 Nitro Black Edition (VN7-793G) but can also be used for the UHD version of the Acer Predator 17 and the Acer Predator 17X with 17.3″ panel manufactured by AU Optronics with model number B173ZAN01.0 featuring UHD (3840×2160) resolution and the machine can be found at Acer Aspire V 17 Nitro Black Edition (VN7-793G).

Office Work / Web Design

This profile aims to deliver the most accurate colors possible in the sRGB gamut – the colors used on the Web. The notebook’s screen is suitable for color-sensitive work but our Office Work / Web Design profile will further improve the color accuracy as you can see from the graph below.

We’ve also adjusted the gamma curve and white balance to fit the standards.

Gaming and Movie Nights

You can take advantage of the Gaming and Movie Nights profile, which will improve the overall visibility – especially in darker areas of the image – during gaming and watching movies (you can see an example here).

Health-Guard profile

As for the Health-Guard profile, it reduces the blue light impact and eliminates the PWM. However, since the panel doesn’t use PWM for regulating screen brightness, the Health-Guard profile will come in handy only for reducing the negative blue light emissions.
