AMD doesn’t offer a lot of low-end GPUs in the mobile segment. The AMD Radeon RX 640 is AMD’s answer to NVIDIA’s MX series. Just like the green MX cards, the AMD RX 640 is an inexpensive product that most of the time is fitted into modest machines.

It’s hard to call the AMD RX 640-based devices budget gaming laptops because the performance of this GPU is good enough for light games only. No matter what, if your budget is super tight, this AMD video card will be one of the possible solutions for you.

So, let’s check what this AMD graphics solution is capable of. We have 35 gaming tests and a lot of videos for you guys, stay tuned.

    Verdict

Well, in terms of performance, the AMD Radeon RX 640 is nothing special. The existence of this GPU is questionable – most of the time, the 15W version of AMD RX Vege 6 (Ryzen 4000) offers equal or even better FPS results, and yes, we are talking about an iGPU that consumes less power meaning lower temperatures and better comfort during gameplay.

Which leads us to a certain point, when we realize that the AMD Radeon RX 640 is being cannibalized by the AMD new iGPUs that are part of the mobile Zen 2 portfolio. Thing is, the Red dedicated video card was on the market before the debut of Zen 2 (for mobile devices) and it has its own place in the low-end segment. But right now the situation is different and you can buy a laptop with this GPU only If the price is super reduced because as we said, most of the current-gen AMD iGPUs are faster when compared to the AMD Radeon RX 640.
