[34 Gaming tests + videos] NVIDIA GeForce MX350 [25W] – still the NVIDIA budget king

Earlier this year, the GeForce MX250 was the fastest NVIDIA low-end and low-power GPU. As we all know, in the IT universe thing can change with a blink of an eye. The GeForce MX250 was dethroned by its successor – the GeForce MX350. The latter originates from the GeForce GTX 1050 but its memory bus is being cut to 64 bit and the power level is reduced to just 25W, just like the MX250.

Still, the MX350 seems like a better product than the MX250 because it has much more horsepower under the hood. We already saw how fast can be MX250 when it’s configured in a laptop with good cooling and that’s why we picked a decent MX350-based notebook (Lenovo Ideapad 5 15) that performs well when it comes to long gaming sessions. It’ll be an interesting battle so stay tuned.

Meanwhile, you can check out all available laptops with GeForce MX350 (25W) here:

Specs overview

As we already informed you, the NVIDIA GeForce MX350 is the successor of the MX250. It uses the same chip as the GTX 1050 but the memory bus is cut to 64-bit and the TGP is reduced to 25W. Expectedly this is a Pascal video card that has 640 shader units and 16 ROPs. The base and the boost clocks are 1354 MHz and 1468 MHz. Meanwhile, the memory is clocked at 7008 MHz.

Verdict

Not bad at all, the GeForce MX350 (25W) performs very well in our tests and it’s faster than the MX250. It’s worth noting that no iGPU on the current market isn’t faster than the GeForce MX350 (25W) – not even the AMD Vega 8 (Renoir C5, Ryzen 4000) and Intel Iris Xe G7 (Max) doesn’t stand a chance against the new budget king – the GeForce MX350.

This leads to another good thing – the GeForce MX350 (25W) brings more performance to affordable laptops without being thirstier than the MX250 and it doesn’t dissipate more heat compared to the older 25W MX GPUs. So, the same power levels but with greatly increased performance – the GeForce MX350 (25W) puts the MX250 on its knees and the budget buyers can be happy because this GP107-based graphics card offers more performance without stretching your wallet too much.
