日本MSI Pulse 15 (B13V) review – climbing up through the ranks
MSI Pulse is a laptop that aims to combine affordability with genuine performance. This differentiates the product from its close relative – the Katana. In addition to some visual changes, however, the manufacturer relies on even more powerful hardware.
In comparison to the Katana, the processor, you get is the Intel Core i7-13700H. It has the full package of P-cores and E-cores, instead of the limited Core i7-123620H, found on the Katana.
This will help with both productivity and gaming, as no bottleneck should be expected. MSI calls the RTX 4070 it puts inside this machine a full power GPU. What this means is that it has 140W of TGP. Interestingly, you will rarely be able to hit those in games. Spoiler alert – the cooling is not an issue.
As of the time of writing this review, the RTX 4060 version of the device will come equipped with a 1080p 360Hz display, while the RTX 4070 will feature a 240Hz 1440p unit.

The packaging here is pretty standard – you get some paperwork, as well as a 240W power adapter.

4060’s sit at about 97 watts and 4070’s at 110 watts
I was completely surprised (in a good way) by MSI Pulse 15 B13V. I had never thought about buying an MSI laptop as it’s brand is not among the top famous in the category. I bought it at a computer store in Chicago and the sales person was skilfull enough to convince me it would be the best option when you’re looking for performance at an afordable price.
