[Specs and Info] ASUS VivoBook Pro 15 OLED – AMD and Intel-powered notebooks for on-the-go professionals

It’s great when laptops come out which give you both an AMD and an Intel variant right from the start, so you don’t have to wait around for a few months to see if the grass is greener on the other side. That is what ASUS has decided to do with their VivoBook Pro 15 OLED laptop, offering both AMD and Intel hardware.

This notebook brings portability, performance, and professional features all in one package, which should also be priced relatively affordable, as after all, the VivoBook brand targets the younger audience, and they don’t have thousands to spend on laptops.

Today we are giving you a quick overview of the ASUS VivoBook Pro 15 OLED.

Full Specs: ASUS VivoBook Pro 15 OLED (AMD) / ASUS VivoBook Pro 15 OLED (Intel)

Design

The laptop is entirely made out of metal, has an anodized finish all around the body. Despite carrying pretty powerful hardware, the device weighs only 1.65 kg and has a profile of 19.9 mm at its thickest point. With a minimal design that uses chamfered edges and a flat lid, the laptop looks elegant and stylish. You can also choose between Quiet Blue, which looks quite dark, or Cool silver, which is described as “youthful”. There is a chevron pattern around the whole laptop, starting from the lid, where the ASUS and VivoBook logos are placed and on the keyboard, specifically the Enter key.

Display

The laptop offers a single display option. It has a 15.6-inch diagonal, comes in a Full HD resolution, and uses an OLED panel. The display is ready for professional work right from the start, with ASUS advertising a max brightness of 600 nits, 100% DCI-P3 coverage, and Pantone Validation for color accuracy. The display has an 84% screen-to-body ratio, and a Blue light reduction feature, which is really important if you plan to use a laptop for a prolonged period of time every day.

Specifications and features

Depending on if you choose the AMD or Intel variant, you’d be getting slightly different CPU options. Starting with the AMD device, you can choose between the Ryzen 5 5600H, Ryzen 7 5800H, and the Ryzen 9 5900HX, which is quite a lot of power for such a small device. On the Intel side, we have either the Core i5-11300H or the Core i7-11370H, which are powered by the Tiger Lake H35, a slightly less powerful version of the H45 architecture. As for the graphics, we have the RTX 3050 (Laptop), while the Intel version also has the GTX 1650 Max-Q (Laptop).

In terms of features, you get a lot of stuff, including a backlit keyboard, a Harman/Kardon sound system, a fingerprint reader, and an e-shutter for the HD Webcam, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2 support. On the Intel side, you also get Thunderbolt 4 support.
