NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (130W) vs RTX 3060 (130W) – the RTX 3070 is a different class
Sometimes people are hesitating before buying a new gaming device. One of the stumbling stones is always the GPU – in our case that is a higher tier mid-range GPU vs a high-end GPU – ergo, GeForce RTX 3070 (130W) vs RTX 3060 (130W). In this scenario, both GPUs have equal TGPs which is a good starting point for checking the exact performance gap between them.
However, the GeForce RTX 3070 (130W) is more thirsty because it’s equipped with more CUDAs, ROPs, and Tensor cores. But it has a wider memory bus and more video RAM so it should be pretty interesting to see the end result of this comparison.

Verdict
The GeForce RTX 3060 (130W) is 11% slower on average when compared to the GeForce RTX 3070 (130W). Actually, this sounds like a normal difference but don’t forget the fact that the GeForce RTX 3060 has a narrower memory bus and a smaller amount of video memory so the bigger GPU is more future proof. Of course, everything comes down to your budget – if you can afford the GeForce RTX 3070 (130W) it’ll be a good choice because it’s a good piece of hardware and you can play all new games on higher settings.
However, the GeForce RTX 3060 (130W) isn’t slow at all and it performs exceptionally well for a mid-range GPU and it’ll save you some money as well.
