Intel Core i5-11300H vs Core i5-1135G7 – the newer CPU seems like a faster chip
The Intel Core i5-11300H and Core i5-1135G7 are two “blue” CPUs that are equally priced at $309.00 (bulk price for 1000 units). Both CPUs are based on the Tiger Lake tech but the H variant belongs to the H35 series while the Core i5-1135G7 is a UP3 unit.
At least on paper, both siblings are close – they have equal core and thread count – 4 cores and 8 threads, the cache size is the same (8MB), and in terms of memory supported frequencies they are on the same boat – DDR4-3200, LPDDR4x-4267.
However, the Core i5-11300H has a bigger TDP and as an H CPU, it may have more tricks under its sleeve. So, let’s check the performance of these two rivals.

CPU benchmarks
Expectedly, the Core i5-11300H is faster compared to the Core i5-1135G7 in 3D Rendering. It looks like in these situations the bigger TDP has the final word.
Results are from the Cinebench R23 CPU test (the higher the score, the better)
GPU benchmarks
Both CPUs are equipped with the same iGPU – Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7 (80EU). Now, in this scenario, the iGPU performance can vary from configuration to configuration and it depends on the memory clock, the single-channel RAM has a negative impact on the iGPU results while the dual-channel memory definitely helps in every situation. So, at least for now, we have results from a prototype laptop and we prefer to test the final version of the product before making any conclusions when it comes to the iGPU “department”.
Results are from the 3DMark: Time Spy (Graphics) benchmark (higher the score, the better)
Results are from the 3DMark: Fire Strike (Graphics) benchmark (higher the score, the better)
Results are from the 3DMark: Wild Life benchmark (higher the score, the better)
Results are from the Unigine Superposition benchmark (higher the score, the better)
Conclusion
So, both processors are equally priced ($309.00) and they have the same core count, cache size, and memory-supported frequencies. At least for now the Core i5-11300H has the upper hand when it comes to pure CPU computational performance. On the other hand, the H CPU dissipates more heat and if you need a thinner laptop maybe the Core i5-1135G7 is a better solution.
