Intel Core i5-1035G4 vs i5-1035G1 – Intel Iris Plus G4 is the boss here
There are two almost the same CPUs in the Intel’s Ice Lake lineup – Core i5-1035G4 and Core i5-1035G1. The main hardware difference is the integrated GPU. Core i5-1035G4 is equipped with the mid-range Intel Iris Plus Graphics G4 while i5-1035G1 has the entry-level one – G1.
So, let’s see what’s the difference between those CPUs and their iGPU’s.
Both CPU’s are almost identical in terms of tech specs. The Core i5-1035G4 has a 100MHz higher base and boost frequencies. Every other specification is the same. Except for the integrated graphics – as we said, i5-1035G4 uses an Intel Iris Plus G4 (with 48 EUs) while i5-1035G1 has UHD Graphics G1 (with 32 EU).
As for the bulk prices – $309.00 for the Core i5-1035G4 a $297.00 for i5-1035G1 – this is exactly a 4% difference.
|Intel Core i5-1035G4||Intel Core i5-1035G1|
|Cores / Threads||4 / 8||4 / 8|
|Base / Max frequency||1.10 – 3.70 GHz||1.00 – 3.60 GHz|
|Cache||6 MB Intel Smart Cache||6 MB Intel Smart Cache|
|TDP / up / down||15W / 25W / 12W||15W / 25W / 13W|
|Memory support||DDR4-3200, LPDDR4-3733||DDR4-3200, LPDDR4-3733|
When it comes to CPU performance, the Core i5-1035G4 8% faster than i5-1035G1.
The difference between Intel Iris Plus G4 and UHD Graphics G1 is like day and night – 73% lead for the Iris Plus G4.
There is nothing much to say after the benchmarks. Intel Core i5-1035G4 is 4% more expensive but you will have 8% more CPU performance and a staggering 73% better GPU score. We call that a deal. The Intel Core i5-1035G4 is one of the best value CPUs right now – good processing and graphics power at a decent price.
There is no point in buying the i5-1035G1 because Intel Core i5-1035G4 offers much more for almost the same price.
