[FPS Benchmarks] The Witcher 3 on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (130W) and RTX 3080 (85W) – the 130W rival is 32% faster on average
The Witcher 3 doesn’t need a special introduction because the game is a well-known title. It was released in 2015 but interestingly enough it still looks just fine for today’s standards. The game comes with a really long single-player story that includes many side quests and there are some additional DLC’s that add even more content to the base game.
As we said, visually the game looks decent even in 2021. In addition, it’s well-optimized and it runs even on iGPUs like the Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7 (96EU) – of course, on Low settings. It’s not a problem to play this game with low-end dGPUs like the GeForce MX250, again, on Low settings. For our comparison, we have two very powerful NVIDIA Ampere GPUs – GeForce RTX 3080 (130W) and RTX 3080 (85W).

Verdict
At the end of the day, it looks like the 130W GPU is a lot faster at least when it comes to The Witcher 3. The bigger video card is 32% faster on average which is a big lead. On the other hand, the 85W GPU isn’t slow at all, it can show 117 FPS on Ultra quality which isn’t bad considering the reduced TGP and frequencies of this graphics solution.
