[FPS Benchmarks] Red Dead Redemption 2 on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (130W) and RTX 3070 (130W) – the bigger GPU is 17% faster on average

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a super successful game developed by Rockstar Games that was first released for consoles but in 2019 the PC version was available too. The core gameplay isn’t too different compared to GTA V – one huge open-world that you can roam freely but this game is set in 1899. So, no cars here, it’s the Wild West and you can ride horses only.

This game uses the RAGE engine and the visual representation is a good one. On the other hand, for maximum visual quality, you’re going to need a really fast gaming device.

Speaking of which, let’s check the performance of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (130W) and RTX 3070 (130W) – these are new and fast Ampere GPUs so let’s see what kind of performance you can expect if you want to play Red Dead Redemption 2 with either of these two video cards.

Verdict

Okay, we have a 17% lead for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (130W). Not bad at all and this is the first GPU that was able to breach the 40 FPS barrier when it comes to Max details. If you want to save some money, but at the same time, you need a really fast graphics solution, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (130W) offers good performance and it’s cheaper than its bigger sibling.

If you need more than 60 FPS, the High preset is the way to go – you’re not going to lose too much visual quality but the FPS is almost doubled.
