[FPS Benchmarks] Metro Exodus on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (165W) and RTX 3070 (140W) – the bigger GPU is 23% faster

Metro Exodus is a beautiful-looking game that has an interesting single-player campaign that offers some scary moments while roaming the abandoned metro stations. The title has two DLC’s that enhance the main story and they are worth playing.

Visually, Metro Exodus looks stunning, especially on Extreme quality but it’s one of the heaviest titles on the market. The Extreme preset is suitable for powerful devices and even then, if you want to use ray-tracing maybe you’ll be forced to activated DLSS if the FPS is too low for your needs and personal preferences.

For our comparison, we have in front of us one of the most powerful mobile GPUs in 2021 – the GeForce RTX 3080 (165W) and RTX 3070 (140W). Let’s check what these two can offer when it comes to Metro Exodus.

Verdict

It’s a bit scary that both GPUs can’t touch the 60 FPS mark. On Extreme quality, the bigger GPU is 15% faster while on High it extends its advantage to + 19%. Still, both graphics cards offer smooth gameplay on High quality so it looks that’s the sweet spot for a lot of video cards out there.
