[FPS Benchmarks] Metro Exodus on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (130W) and RTX 3070 (130W) – the bigger GPU is 22% faster on Extreme quality

Metro Exodus is still one of the heaviest PC games out there. This is a kind of game that can put the cooling solution of your laptop to a serious (stress) test. On Extreme quality, even some decent mid-range GPUs like the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (75W) struggle to deliver more than 30 FPS on average. And if you add ray-tracing in the mix, you’re going to need a high-end device and DLSS will be your best friend.

On the bright side, if you aren’t too greedy for max details, The High preset offers a good mix of picture quality and FPS so you don’t have to spend a fortune to play this game with good visual quality. As you may already guess, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (130W) is faster and if we have to be a bit more precise – it’s 17% faster on average which sounds like a normal performance difference for these GPUs. We are happy to see that on Extreme quality, the performance gap is 22% which is a decent lead for the bigger video card.

On the other hand, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (130W) provides super performance for its money. If you don’t need all the bangs and whistles of the Extreme quality, just switch down to High, and the FPS will be much higher.
