[FPS Benchmarks] Gears 5 on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (65W) and RTX 3050 (55W) – the 65W GPU is 31% faster

Gears 5 is a good-looking game that is based on Unreal Engine 4 (just like the predecessor – Gears Of War 4). Fights with huge numbers of monsters from the Locust and Swarm Hordes, a good story, and a decent amount of missions are part of the fun.

Gears 5 is a well-optimized game that can be played even with low-end GPUs with around 50 FPS on the Medium preset like the NVIDIA GeForce MX450 (GDDR6, 25W). For this article, we’ll compare two video cards with not-so-hefty TGPs – the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 (65W) and RTX 3050 (55W).

Verdict

It’s completely normal that the bigger GPU is faster and its lead is a solid one – 31% more FPS compared to the GeForce RTX 3050 [55W] is a respectable result. On the other hand, the latter is fast enough to deliver 68 FPS on High details and this is a good result for an inexpensive graphics card with just a 55W TGP.
