[FPS Benchmarks] Doom Eternal on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (130W) and RTX 3070 (130W) – the RTX 3080 shows its raw power
DOOM Eternal is a first-person shooter game that is part of the super-popular Doom franchise. The game looks good thanks to the id Tech 7 engine. It seems that Doom Eternal is well optimized because it can run decently on not-so-powerful hardware – iGPUs like AMD Radeon RX Vega 7 (Ryzen 4000) and dGPUs like NVIDIA GeForce MX350 (25W) can run this game at least on Low.
Let’s put aside the low-end GPUs and let’s focus on two beasty video cards – the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (130W) and RTX 3070 (130W).

Verdict
When it comes to Doom Eternal, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (130W) shows its raw power on any in-game quality preset. On Low, the bigger GPU is 63% faster compared to its smaller sibling. If you play multiplayer often (and if you don’t mind lowered settings), probably the Low settings are the way to go especially if you have a 240 Hz or 300 Hz panel. On Medium, the bigger GPU wins again by a hefty margin (+45%), and when it comes to Ultra Nightmare, the GeForce RTX 3080 [130W] keeps its lead again (+27%).
