[FPS Benchmarks] DOOM Eternal on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (130W) and RTX 3060 (130W) – RTX 3080 is 37% faster
DOOM Eternal is the successor of DOOM 2016 which was a successful reboot for the popular series. The new title brings even more impressive graphics, an aggressive soundtrack, and the gameplay is much more intensive compared to the 2016 version.
Visually, the game looks great and it’s well-optimized – a modest mid-range GPU like the GeForce RTX 3050 (60W) can show 86 FPS on Ultra details. People with fast refresh rate displays should look for something more powerful. For today’s comparison, we have picked two fast graphics solutions – the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (130W) and RTX 3060 (130W).

Verdict
Expectedly, the bigger GPU is faster but when it comes to DOOM Eternal, the 130W version of the GeForce RTX 3080 is 37% faster on average and 47% faster on Ultra details – this performance difference is like day and night. The bigger GPU offers more FPS which is great if you have at least a 120Hz or 144Hz display (or even better). However, the smaller GPU is able to deliver enough FPS even for the abovementioned display variants so it could save you a lot of money if you don’t need the super performance of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 (130W).
