[FPS Benchmarks] ARK: Survival Evolved on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti (75W) and RTX 3050 (55W) – the 75W GPU wins but the smaller GPU isn’t slow

ARK: Survival Evolved is a game that uses Unreal Engine 4 and it looks great, especially on Epic quality. In terms of gameplay, the player is on an island that is being populated by prehistorical creatures and hostile humans. Of course, your main goal is to survive. You can do it by leveling up your character, killing animals for food, crafting weapons and even you can build a base.

When it comes to picture quality, the game isn’t light especially if you want to greatly increase the visual quality. The good news is most of the mid-range GPUs are fast enough for decent FPS values on Medium or High settings. On the other hand, if you want to play with more than 60 FPS on Epic quality, your device should be a gaming beast. For this article, we have prepared two entry-level NVIDIA RTX GPUs – the GeForce RTX 3050 Ti (75W) and RTX 3050 (55W).

Verdict

Expectedly, the GeForce RTX 3050 Ti [75W] is faster – it has more firepower under the hood and its TGP is 36% bigger compared to the GeForce RTX 3050 [55W]. Maybe the performance of both GPUs on Low isn’t that important for most people because on this quality preset the game looks washed-out and the two GPUs can achieve more than 100 FPS. The more important thing is, that the two rivals are offering similar performance on Medium settings. Further down the road, the 75W video card is around 30% faster on High and Epic Quality.

The GeForce RTX 3050 [55W] isn’t a slouch and it can show 47 FPS on High which is just fine for a graphics card that has such a modest TGP.
