[Comparison] Intel Core i7-11390H vs Core i7-11370H – it doesn’t matter which one you pick
The Tiger Lake H35 family of CPUs has so far been unimpressive. Even the lower-powered U-series manage to deliver similar performance thanks to less cooling needs, which doesn’t lead to throttling.
Today we have two of these Tiger Lake H35 chips, which are essentially the same CPU with different clock speeds. The Core i7-11390H and the i7-11370H both offer a 4-core / 8-thread setup, and pretty high base and boost speeds, which should deliver snappy performance for shorter tasks.

CPU benchmarks
As you can see, there’s hardly any difference between the two chips, which is to be expected, as frequencies fluctuate very much nowadays to accommodate for the shifting temperatures. The Core i7-11390H scores 3% higher in Cinebench 20 and was 0.7 seconds quicker in Photoshop.
Results are from the Cinebench R23 CPU test (the higher the score, the better)

Conclusion
This is a clear sign that the two CPUs have no distinguishable difference between them. The higher clocked CPU is entirely dependent on the cooling to reach these speeds, so if you want a device with it, you have to go on a laptop per laptop basis, since every manufacturer goes a different way when it comes to cooling. We are still to see a well-performing Tiger Lake H35 chip that can realize its potential, mainly because most laptops that use them are smaller and more affordable, which doesn’t leave a lot of spare resources for cooling.
