The MateBook X Pro series from Huawei offers a good chunk of performance, stylish and elegant designs, and professional features. Here we did a breakdown of the newest one, which brings the latest technology from Intel. Today we are doing something different, as we are comparing the new laptop against its predecessor, to see what has changed, and how much the new notebook has improved.

Full Specs: MateBook X Pro (2021) / MateBook X Pro (2020)

Starting from the design, we see next to no difference between the two devices. They both share the same aluminum unibody, round corners, and diamond-cut edges. Take a look at the lid, and you see the same Huawei branding, along with the same thin bezels and lack of a Webcam on the top one, which is well hidden under one of the keyboard keys. The base looks exactly the same as well, featuring two speaker grills on the sides, a keyboard, and a fingerprint reader. The weight and height are also the same: 1.33 kg and 14.6 mm.

The laptops also use the same touchscreen display, which has a 13.9-inch diagonal, 3K resolution, and a 3:2 aspect ratio. It uses an IPS panel with a max brightness of 450 nits and a 1500:1 contrast ratio. It also covers 100% of the sRGB gamut, making it an appealing device for designers and artists.

The specs table is the only area where we find any considerable change. The Comet Lake-based Core i5-10210U and Core i7-10510U are now gone and in their place, we have the Core i5-1135G7 and the Core i7-1165G7. These new CPUs not only bring improved performance but also new integrated graphics, which are much more powerful and outshine even AMD’s RX Vega offerings and even some of NVIDIA’s MX GPUs.
