[Specs and Info] Lenovo 300e Yoga Chromebook Gen 4 – Students are getting a lot of attention from manufacturers

The last few years have shown us that laptops and technology are needed more than ever, as industries and institutions need to be flexible and enter the digital age. Chromebooks are an easy way to digitize the workspace, offering a low-cost alternative that can still do the basic stuff like sending emails, doing presentations, and more. Today we have the Lenovo 300e Yoga Chromebook Gen 4, a device that’s ready for the classroom. It also looks to have decent performance thanks to an ARM SoC, which can be very efficient as well, making it a good option for anyone who’s just starting to use a laptop. The 2-in-1 aspect

Today we’re giving you a quick overview of the Lenovo 300e Yoga Chromebook Gen 4.

Lenovo 300e Yoga Chromebook Gen 4: Full Specs

Design

The laptop has a chunkier appearance, as the plastic chassis is still thick enough in order to make the laptop more durable. The device is also a bit ruggedized, with a rubbery finish on the lid and the bottom panel, which add some scratch resistance. The laptop itself weighs 1.33 kg and has a profile of 18.6 mm, which is a bit more than what you’d expect from an 11.6-inch machine, but still portable enough. There are also two cameras, one HD webcam with a privacy shutter and fixed focus for your standard webcam, as well as another 5MP shooter with autofocus.

On the base, the keyboard takes pretty much all the horizontal space but still leaves enough for the touchpad. As for the I/O, there are USB Type-A 3.2 (Gen. 1) ports, one USB Type-C 3.2 (Gen. 1) port, an HDMI 1.4b port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. On the sides, you can also see the power button, a volume rocker, and a stylus enclosure.

Display

There’s only one display available, an HD IPS panel with a resolution of 1366 x 768p. It has a max brightness of 250 nits but only covers around half of the sRGB color gamut. Now, this is actually decent and won’t affect the use of the laptop at all, since we don’t expect you to do any design work on an 11.6-inch Chromebook that’s mainly offered to schools and tech newbies.

Specifications and features

Powering the laptop is a MediaTek Kompanio 520 SoC, which has 8 cores. Two of them run at 2.05 GHz, while the rest are clocked at 2.00 GHz. The SoC should deliver good performance, especially in ChromeOS, a lightweight OS that doesn’t need a lot of resources to be snappy and quick. The SoC packs a GPU, however, don’t expect miracles from it. The ARM Mali-G52 MP2 is from 2020, but you can still play some games from the Play Store, as well as watch endless videos and spend quality time on it.
