[Comparison] AMD Ryzen 5 6600H vs Intel Core i7-11800H – People forget how powerful Tiger Lake is

Intel was a pretty silent player in 2021, as most of the community was riding AMD’s coattails, due to the large gap in performance and efficiency that the 4000H series delivered against 10th Gen Intel CPUs.

However, Tiger Lake was still a decent improvement, pushing performance a bit higher, getting very close to AMD’s 5000H-series. We all know how that turned out in 2022, as Intel is back on top, offering some of the most powerful processors that you can get today. AMD’s answer to Alder Lake has been the 6000H-series, which kept great power efficiency and battery life but upped performance only by a bit.

This ponders the question, how does a mid-range 6000H-series CPU do against a high-end Tiger Lake chip from last year? That’s what we’re here to answer, by comparing the Ryzen 5 6600H against the Intel Core i7-11800H.

Here is our Top Laptop CPU Ranking, which has the best laptop CPUs in a list, based on performance.

Conclusion

The Intel Core i7-11800H remains one of the most underrated processors in terms of pure performance. Overall, it might not be as efficient as what AMD offers, once it’s plugged into a wall, there are few things that could go toe-to-toe with it. With that said, for more budget laptops and for people who want to be able to use their laptops on the go, the Ryzen 5 6600H is a good offering, pushing battery life to the max, while performing despite that.

Is this satire? Are you guys for real? Comparing an i7 to ryzen 5. All your reviews and commentaries show an extreme bias for Intel. I take your cpu and battery life evaluations to no regard. Sickening!
